Vietnam’s industrial parks retrofit solar power to attract investors

HANOI, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — Industrial parks in Vietnam have retrofitted rooftop solar power systems to increase competitiveness and attract investors, Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.
More than 1,200 businesses in Vietnam’s garment and textile sector are located in industrial parks. About 30-50 percent of them have installed their own rooftop solar power systems, said the report.
However, they are facing a number of difficulties from weather conditions, and unclear mechanisms for rooftop solar power installation for businesses and industrial parks.
The newspaper cited experts as saying that using green energy from rooftop solar power systems was an indispensable choice for businesses. ■
